United strolls into bare fare territory

CHICAGO - United follows Delta along the bare-bone trail and hopes to appeal to cost-sensitive fliers with a new Economy Basic fare option.

Available from January 2017, an Economy Basic ticket will buy you a seat on a United flight and, well, nothing else. Not even cabin luggage. And you will be the last to board the flight, obviously. That said, United promises you a really sweet transportation deal.
